4 cups shredded coconut
3 ¾ cups sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
¼ cup butter
1 ½ cups vanilla
2 packages of chocolate chips
1 package (10 oz) of cotton candy

In a large bowl, combine the coconut, sugar, milk, and butter. Form up balls and place in waxed paper lined trays. Refrigerate for 1 ¼ hours or until firm.
In a microwave, heat the vanilla on 70% power for 1 minute, then stir and heat with 20 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Cover the balls with the mixture and cool until firm, for about 15 minutes. Set aside the remaining melted vanilla.
For the hats, submerge each piece of cotton candy in chocolate and shake off excess, before allowing to cool for about 15 minutes.
Level off the top of the coconut balls. Attach the hats and use black cherries for the eyes, add eyes and a mouth and decorate the hats.
Store in an upright container until you’re ready to serve.
